St.Nikolaos Ragkavas (II)



Was build about 1040-1050.
The name Ragkavas comes
from a famous Athenian family.
At first it was a private church,
but since many years is a public one.

Very interesting information here,
but you have to translate it in your language...

Amazing to see a church from 1050! I guess it might be quite dark inside?

It looks not so old to me.
Form itself, all details of building and its colors are look perfect.
vivid blue sky also suits its scenery very much!

Athens, the capital of Greece, with more than 3.000.000 people....
It's not just ancient ruins and pollution.
Its' also the suburbs, everyday people, gardens, bitter orange trees.
